Pomona's location close to the city of Los Angeles provide residents the opportunity to take advantage of all of the entertainment offerings of Los Angeles and Los Angeles county. Pomona does have entertainment offerings of its own.
Some of the more notable events include: KABOOM! 4th of July Celebration, the Fairplex Pomona Raceway, the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds and Annual Los Angeles County Fair, the Pomona Arts Colony, the Pomona Concert Band, the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum.
For the sports enthusiast, Los Angeles county provides access to a plethora of professional sporting attractions, including the Arena Football League's (AFL) Los Angeles Avengers, Major League Baseball's (MLB) Los Angeles Dodgers, Major League Soccer's (MLS) Club Deportivo Chivas USA and Los Angeles Galaxy, the National Basketball associations (NBA) Los Angeles Clippers and Lakers, the National Hockey League's (NHL) LA Kings, and the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks. College football's Rose Bowl is also played in Los Angeles County in Pasadena.
